|Mario Brothers epic movie

I'd told Jenn about this fun, epic 8-bit Mario Brothers flash video for a long time, but I had lost the link and searching "Mario brothers parody" just led to - to so much terrible stuff, you guys. There are a billion Mario Brothers videos, each more terrible than the last when sorted appropriately.|
BUT! I searched for a while (both the internet AND my memory) for clues, and remembering that I saw it on Newgrounds was the key: they have a good listing of videos and I found it! It was called "Mario Brothers".
And here it is, for both Jenn and anyone else with about half an hour to spare! It starts out kinda cheesy but once you buy into it, sets a mood nicely.

HAS to be better than the actual Super Mario Bros. movie.
epic indeed! music is used nicely, it's got links to youtube, but they don't allow the music on it.
If by "a while" you mean "two seconds" because that is how long it takes them to bust out the SHIGGITY SHIGGITY SHWAA and before you know it they're already up to you want ice cream cone? BOTH OF THEM SAY YES. How in the hell!
The music was used well, and there was a good understanding of editing, but I feel like you pranked us. That was horrible! I mean, a good effort by someone who's young and has probably just read The Lord of the Rings for the first time, but really, really, really not worth half an hour.
I agree! It'd have been all right had it not had the dialogue in it, which was in bad English and just cheapened it all. Especially since Nintendo themselves did such a good job at providing a narrative for Smash Brawl that had absolutely no speech in it :)
This is pretty sweet. Even though using the Requiem for a Dream theme is REQUIRED for something like this, I am still glad to hear it.
I've seen this before, but right now it really makes me want to play through the original with sounds and music off, and with 'Pyramid Song' playing on a loop.
For the medium, it's pretty great. I mean, no voice acting, 8-bit sprite animation...but still pretty effective. It's big, and melodramatic, but so is ancient Greek theatre. So is opera. And I like those things, and I like this little series as well.
Until the ending I was CONVINCED that it was the Iliad and Mario was going to shoot Koopa in the foot with a fireball.
It was pretty good. A bit long - Epic, I know.
Pretty depressing but I really liked the music.
Overall I give it an A-
I never saw the end until just now! I knew it was going to go badly, but I didn't know how badly. Damn, Mario, that is one ice cold cup of coffee for a brother.
Yeah, I'd never seen part V either until I tracked it down yesterday. I guess we both watched it when it came out but never came back for the last part!
Hey Ryan, two and a half years ago (!) you started the Qwantz group on the World Community Grid
. I've been running it since you first mentioned them, and I see there's a link on the comic's main page, but I think they deserve another mention in a post here or the comic's newspost. There are just under 2,500 members now, and we're around #40
among all the groups there... but I bet with another high-profile mention we could crank out more results and go even higher. Pwease?
